PhysicsWallah, an edtech unicorn, announced the acquisition of FreeCo, a doubt-solving and resource management business. However, it omitted to mention the deal’s financial specifics. With the acquisition, PhysicsWallah will be able to improve its current services and improve the educational process for students.
Both teams will collaborate on projects involving a content library, faculty administration, and effective resource allocation between two startups. Additionally, PhysicsWallah will use the expertise of the FreeCo team to upgrade its present portfolio of goods and services and streamline its current offering of doubt-clearing services.
We are confident in changing our current learning pedagogies and providing superior learning solutions to aspirants thanks to FreeCo’s competence in the ed-tech field. Alakh Pandey, CEO and co-founder of PhysicsWallah, stated that the company’s goal is to make learning easier for students by utilising cutting-edge tools and technology to make it more accessible and learner-centered.
As part of the agreement, PhysicsWallah will add 15 FreeCo staff to its payroll. Since raising a massive $100 million in June of this year, PhysicsWallah has only made this acquisition. The startup became the 101st to join the unicorn club as a result of this fundraiser, making it.
Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari founded PhysicsWallah in 2020 with the primary goal of serving students studying for competitive exams like NEET and JEE. The company has also entered the offline market with the opening of “PW Vidyapeeths” in six cities, including Delhi and Kota.
Nikhil Chaudhary and Prashant Soni established FreeCo in 2020. It is a startup that offers resource management and doubt clearing services to both B2B and B2C customers. Among other things, it provides content services, online tutoring, and pen-tab video solutions.
