The Indian Institute of Technology , Madras (IIT-M) launches Carbon Zero Challenge or CZC 2022 competition. The CZC 2022 is an eco-innovation and entrepreneurship competition that aims to accelerate the decarbonisation of the economy by focusing on “Resource Depletion and Pollution”. The eco-entrepreneurship competition that seeks to inspire and nurture the next generation of green entrepreneurs. Over the past three years, the competition has helped launch the careers of hundreds of young people, many of whom are now building global businesses.
The competition is also a powerful vehicle for raising public awareness about the impacts of climate change and biodiversity loss. The CZC 2022 is an eco-innovation and entrepreneurship competition aimed at discovering and promoting solutions to climate change and biodiversity loss. The competition was inspired by the Carbon Zero Challenge, an all-India competition for climate change solutions that was held for the first time in 2019. The CZC 2022 is a follow-up to the first edition of the CZC, which was held in 2018 and focused on reducing pollution. The winners of the CZC 2022 will receive a start-up seed grant of Rs.
The competition is open to students and young alumni across the country and is being held in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K), the only other Indian institute to have joined the CZC 2022, along with their partner IIT-M. The CZC was first launched in 2016, with the focus on reducing carbon emissions in buildings.
The winners of the competition will recieve incubation along with VC and angle investor funding for their startup. “The Institute has a robust incubation ecosystem that can help start-ups mature and convert their ideas into a viable business,” Professor V Kamakoti, Director of IIT-M, said.
