Grenada: 14 young men engages in direct skills training of computer repairs – Associates Times

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture of Grenada hosted direct skills Training in the area of Computer Repairs, where around Fourteen (14) young men under the MPower Programme are currently engaged. 
Grenada: The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture of Grenada hosted direct skills Training in the area of Computer Repairs, where around Fourteen (14) young men under the MPower Programme are currently engaged. 
The Training is being conducted by Tech World Training and Certification Centre, located at Petite Esperance, St.David. The young men are among those selected for the 2022 cohort of the MPower Programme.
Two hundred and ten (210) moved into N.V.Q/C.V.Q level 2 training in areas such as Computer Repairs, Graphic Designs, Plumbing Installation, General Agriculture and Construction, and Commercial Food Preparation, among other areas.
Ninety-nine (99) will receive certification training from GRENCASE in areas such as Auto Mechanics, Electrical Installation, Woodwork, and Plumbing Installation. At the same time, twenty (20) of the registered young men will move directly into Apprenticeship (On Job Training).
The 1-year program provides young men between the ages of 18–35 with opportunities for self-empowerment, holistic development, skills certification, and employment.
Earlier, Young people from the communities of Soubise St. Andrew, La Poterie St. Andrew, Victoria St. Mark, and Boca St. George are being given an opportunity to receive skilled certification, improve their standard of living and help build communities.
Following two months of life skills, participants engaged in the 2022 cohort of Project F.L.Y. (Project Fostering Level Headed Youth), will from Monday begin Direct Skills Training. It will run for nine months.
The project will run for one (1) year with forty (40) persons per community. It seeks to provide Training in soft and direct skills areas to youth within various communities throughout Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.
They have presently engaged in skills Training at various centres across the tri-island. Training areas include Hospitality Services, General Agriculture, General Construction, Plumbing, Electrical Installation, A.C./Refrigeration Repairs, Fabric Design, Geriatric Care, and more. In addition, participants will attend various C.V.Q centres around the Island.
