Free workshops aim to help you turn business ideas into reality – Torbay Weekly

The TDA are offering a free ‘starting your business’ four-week programme.
The aim of the workshops is to introduce would-be business people to the basics of how to start a business, business structure and how to register a business.
The sessions will highlight the importance of business planning, costing and pricing, marketing and how to financially plan for a start up.
On completion of the workshops, the aim is attendees will have a strong foundation of which to bring a business idea into reality.
Starting Friday, November 4, and every Friday through to November 25, those taking part must be able to attend all four sessions at Torbay Business Centre in Lymington Road, Torquay.
The programme features: an introduction to starting your business – business planning, record keeping and the different types of business structures; marketing – what are the seven Ps of marketing and why are they important to the growth of your new business, do you have a USP, SWOT, market research, marketing and action planning; financial planning – taking the fear out of business finance, creating forecasts, funding options for your start-up and promotion and sales – promotional strategies for your business and how to sell your product or service, effective communication with potential customers.
Business support is available free of charge to all Torbay residents from all backgrounds with the aim of harnessing local entrepreneurial talent.
It is fully funded by Torbay Council and the European Regional Development Fund.
TDA delivers practical, high-quality business skills workshops covering everything you need to know about starting a successful business, 1:1 support and a complete online learning resource.
